We’re not the kind of trainers who like to shout to the World about how good we are. Thankfully however, we have some great clients who love training with us, love how we have helped them and are more than happy to share their thoughts and experience with you……

"A brilliant space with a fantastic team of trainers, all of whom have selective hearing there is no such thing as cant do it in there, they always find a way for you. Never thought I would ever say I enjoy fitness, most experiences I have had in the past with other gyms you are left to your own devices, with you guys you know how to get the most from us. I know from speaking to the sgpt groups I go to that we all love the place keep up the good work guys. Not forgetting Bev in the background keeping all the classes running smoothly with her daily texts." Marie Gillies

"Classes: Exciting, never boring. Challenging. I always feel like a warrior leaving those classes. Women aren't patronised, we can work out and lift heavy with the boys.

Gym: the corner of most gyms taken to a new level. A playground of equipment to achieve your goals.

Team: really care about your goals and never make you feel like a faceless person in your 'ordinary' gym. Also these guys walk the walk!" Kirsty Selkirk

"Brutal, effective and addictive!" Fiona Leonard

"Totally agree with Fi! But I'd add to it that it's like being part of a family- days when you don't quite feel great, sessions when you feel a little more tired than you'd hope and the sofa seemed like the better option, routines that you mentally struggle with and aren't quite what you love doing- then you look around the room for a split second and somehow find it in yourself to push harder, sweat more and push yourself..because you know it's not just yourself your letting down if you give up!" Hayley Preston

"Supportive, motivational, varied, personal, friendly, inclusive...oh and very hard work!!!" Susan Marr

"Inclusive,Addictive,Inspirational" Ian MacKenzie

"Thanks again for all your help, I really do appreciate all that you and the team are doing from me, although I have not caught the gym bug completely (YET) you have helped enormously to get me over the door and I am so very grateful to synergy for putting me on the road to finding a fitter me." Megan Holwill

"Addictive, inclusive and motivational" Scott Taylor

"I've trained in many gyms in many different countries and cities, Synergy is simply the most friendly, positive, well equipped training facility I've used. Brilliant and thank you" Stuart Alexander Gilbert

"Your classes are a beautiful nightmare, superbly structured and effective" Andy McMahon

"Every session is different so challenges you in a different way . Sgpt feels very individualised despite being in a group of 10 . Gym has great space which the gym team utilise effectively. Gym team very motivated and use upto date evidence based research to underpin their knowledge . Team works very hard in providing a challenging experience." Gail Norris

"Addictive, Challenging, Awesome, Effective, Motivating, Encouraging, Friendly, Welcoming, Fun" Valerie Bowie

"Synergy is invigorating motivational life changing. I have only been a member for a few months but I feel so much fitter already I'm stronger mentally and physically. You will sweat and be exhausted but you need that to get the results you want.

The team are fantastic and are very personable and all the members are friendly. I've been to quite a few classes now and everyone has been different. I am hooked and miss it when I'm not there already thank you guys.

Sorry for the essay Ross but you guys do too good a job for a few words" Morna Musakambeva

"I’ve been attending the different Synergy classes for a year, so this testimonial is way over due! I’ve always, to varying degrees, attended fitness classes but have never found one where I have really noticed the difference. I enjoyed the Les Mills classes but found them to be repetitive, I felt fitter but I didn’t really notice a change in my shape.

I was recommended to Synergy from my friend and started off with the KettleFit classes, after my first class I realised that I had worked muscles that I never even knew existed! I’ve never looked back and instead I have added more classes to my week: Small Group Personal Training and Synergise. I have noticed such a change in my shape and I have almost achieved my second dress size drop.

The team ensure that the classes are constantly adapted to ensure that you and your body are constantly challenged. The music is also very motivating – who wouldn’t love to lunge to Tina Turner!

I’ve never come across such a genuinely caring and friendly bunch who truly want the best for each and ever member of their classes. This isn’t solely aimed at the fantastic instructors but also to Bev who ensures that everything runs smoothly!

If you want to make a difference to your health and fitness and gain new friends – then Synergy is the way forward!" Teri Fisher

"Having become frustrated at the lack of progress using a gym routine and seen myself in holiday photographs, I followed a recommendation and contacted Phoenix Personal Training.  I signed up rather nervously for a 10 week programme with Jon.  Looking back I am not sure why I was nervous, as I very quickly got really inspired by Jon's challenging but achievable weekly PT sessions, his support and encouragement and his understanding of how to motivate me.  I very quickly swapped the gym for kettlefit, rekindled my enjoyment of cycling, running and swimming, modified my diet (under Jon's careful guidance and advice), and overcame some personal barriers to fitness training.  The glue in all of this was Jon's approach to PT, which has kept me motivated and focused.

The proof is in the pudding - in the first 10 weeks I have exceeded my fitness goals and targets, I have lost over a stone, and most importantly I have regained control of my health and well being.  I could not have achieve all of this without Jon's PT programme - bring on the next 10 weeks!!" Margery McBain

"After an illness that left me having to learn to walk again, it was several years

before I felt confident enough to join an exercise class . I had tried the gym but unfortunately a lot had changed in the passing years and the machines were too complicated to try and go it alone . If it wasn't for my friend Marie suggesting that I tried the Kettlefit, I probably would still be plodding on.

I cannot pinpoint a particular trainer for a testimonial as Ross, Neil and Jon have all performed small miracles with me !! The guys have all been great and very understanding of my particular issues surrounding balance and my total lack of core!!, and each one has adapted each exercise to suit me. As I have progressed the adaption has lessened, but they are always there to give encouragement and instruct you on the correct way to it. Don't think for one minute the guys have been easy on me, and they push me to my limit as much as anyone else in the group. The sessions are hard , workouts changed frequently so the body doesn't get used to it, and you certainly find all those small muscle groups that you never knew existed!, but you feel you've done something good when it’s over.
With the new building opening I am hoping to join more training groups and broaden my fitness regime. My balance has improved immensely, and I feel more confident, toned and ready to take more of life on. Isn't that what it’s all about?
They are marvellous at what they do, and although I have a long way to go, I know that with their guidance and rigorous workouts I will continue to improve. I hope that anyone else who has a physical disability can read this and feel they can seek guidance on the best way to fitness through this amazing team of individuals.

Huge Thanks" Audrey McGinty

"Group Personal Training:-

G- Group Personal Training :If you are used to training on your own then I would like to suggest you try group PT, as the following is a summary of my own experience of the benefits and friends that I have made by training as a group, with Ross as the PT Instructor.

R – Resistance. The sessions comprise a combination of cardio and resistance work. Especially important is the resistance work for those of us who want that shapely body. Helps us women to maintain our peak bone mass and avoid the old osteoporosis (hope this impresses Ross??).

O – Oxygen vital for exercise .The sessions are designed to work us hard and the muscles soon tell you when the oxygen levels are depleting and the lactic acid has kicked in!! But! But! Improves your endurance (Ross impressed again??).

U – Ultra fit .That’s the aim .Training is only half the battle .Nutritional advice is always on tap. Ross is always on hand to helps us make the “healthy food choices”.

P- Personalised. That’s what you get. Even though you train as a group each training plan has been individualised so that you are working at your own level.  Unique.

T- Training can be lonely when the going gets tough but with the camaraderie you experience working as a group, sees your fitness levels vastly improving.

R – Ross the instructor well? Always, always appears to be charismatic and smiling. Don’t be fooled as he means business!

A- Achievement .How many times have you felt like your  “gonna die” on the hill climb on the treadmill? Well that feeling is intensified with group PT sessions, but because you’re working as part of a group your determined not to give up. Look what you have achieved!

I – Interval training. Yes that’s included in the price. Think its Ross’s favourite. Known to burn the calories with the high intensity work out with recovery periods. Makes a very very interesting workout shall we say!

N – Nutritional advice .Well this just comes as part of the package. No more chocolate!!!

I - Isotonic exercise means muscular action in which there is a change in length of muscle and weight, keeping tension constant. Lifting free weights is a classic isotonic exercise .Plenty of these in group PT  sessions . Plenty!  Plenty !

N – NO can’t do this. How many times have you said this to yourself? Well this word does not exist in Group PT.Ross or your group mates never let you give in!

G – Glucose. Simple word for sugar, good for the old bit energy .Found in vast amounts in chocolate. Forbidden fruit within the realms of the Group PT rule book." Gail Norris

"I go to all the KettleFit classes at James Young High School, Livingston.....I have been going for a couple of months now and I thoroughly enjoy it.. It is hard work but no pain no gain as they say. I have definately noticed a difference in my physique and would now consider maybe doing a PT class also.  The banter in the classes is great and you both know how to motivate people.  I am glad that I got introduced to the Synergy and KettleFit." Lesley Lynch

"I have been training now with Ross for just over a year and there is never a dull moment! Whether it’s a PT session, Kettle fit class or SGPT, both Ross and Neil keep the training varied and fun. I have experienced moments of highs and lows as everyone does when they are trying to lose weight or keep fit but every time Ross is there with his words of wisdom, and encouragement to help you keep going or to pick yourself up and get back to it!

Not only have I improved my fitness but my circle of friends have increased too, it’s a very friendly group of people who all encourage one another which makes the hard training more enjoyable!" Jemma Docherty

"KettleFit has been a new experience for me and something I have been searching for a while I've been to all sorts of fitness classes in a bid to lose weight and tone up but never felt they challenged me, and pushed me to work hard. My first class I have to admit found muscles I didn’t know I had before! Every time I go to a class I love that they remember my name and im not just a face in a class. I sweat buckets! And I go away feeling knackered but really pleased with myself, and I luv it !!!! I am marvelling at discovering toned muscles. Thanks keep up the good work you are both great." Linda Jenkins

"I started KettleFit from doing very little exercise and after only a few weeks I can see and feel the difference!"

"The sessions are easy to pick up and Ross keeps you well motivated!" Niall Sinclair

"I hadn't been able to do any proper exercise for over a year due to back problems. I had got into a vicious circle whereby I needed to exercise to help my back but anything I did seemed to irritate it. I wasn't sure if Kettlefit would be too high impact, however, Ross took on board my situation and throughout the first class checked out how I was doing and suggested alternatives if there was an exercise I wasn't comfortable with."

"The classes are good fun, although don't expect to sit down easily after the first one!!"

"Even in a busy class Ross manages to keep an eye on everyone and check out that they are doing each exercise safely and well. There is also a really friendly atmosphere in the classes." Laura Harcus

"Having attended many of Ross's classes over the years I know him to be passionate and committed to helping you fulfil your vision, he is a natural motivator. Ross and his team are firm with their training/classes although lucky for us, he puts the fun back into fitness. You are always guaranteed a great work out with great results and a good laugh - don't just take my word for it, try it for yourself." Paula Murray

"I have been interested in fitness for years and have tried every class possible. I have now found a class which pushes you to your max! Results are amazing and from participating in 1-3 classes a week incorporating this with running I find I have now found my perfect training regime. KettleFit is the perfect all round class that challenges and tones your whole body.   LOVE IT!!!!!   Oh and did I say the instructors are so motivational and extremely professional keeping up with latests trends!" Audrey Gallagher

"When I started at Synergy KettleFit, I had not participated in any physical fitness for months  so they let me go up my own pace, however I still felt pushed to do more than I would at a gym on my own.  I have tried many different forms of exercise in the past and this is the only class that I feel allows me to work all the important parts a lady needs to work out all in the one class. Ross our instructor always keeps an eye on you to ensure you are doing the exercises properly, to ensure maximum results.  The class is very friendly and welcomed me from day one, and I now feel part of the Synergy family!"Jenni Taylor

"Synergy KettleFit is an outstanding workout. Ross creates a fun, energetic and supportive class atmosphere where you are encouraged (but not forced) to push yourself." Anonymous

"Going from training 5/6 times a week to near 0 due to work commitments, KettleFit alone is keeping me in shape.  I’d strongly recommend to anyone to give it a go.  You won’t be disappointed."Craig Reid

"I have been doing KettleFit with Synergy since it started and it’s an excellent workout.  I normally take part in Neil’s class on a Saturday morning, it’s a great start to the weekend.  I feel I get a good cardio workout whilst also strengthening my core.  KettleFit is a whole body workout that allows you to pick the intensity based on what weight of kettlebell you choose.  There is a great atmosphere in the class and Neil always has an eye on your ’form’ to make sure you are getting the most out of each exercise – even if that means it is a little harder. KettleFit challenges even those who are really fit and go to the gym regularly as its’ a different type of workout."Claire Doonan

"I feel much better in myself since joining the groups and my fitness has improved.

I like the fact it is a different routine each time and the trainers are clear with their instructions, also that they notice how you are performing. Not like other places I have been to where you could be doing the fitness any old way and end up damaging yourself."Heather McNeil
